
Sony offers a new Handycam, the HDR-CX12 that features the Smile Shutter technology. Sony HDR-CX12 is the world’s first digital camcorder to feature the Smile Shutter technology.
The Sony HDR-CX12 has a ClearVid CMOS sensor that can record 1920×1080 Full HD video or capture 10 Megapixel still images. The CX12 comes with a a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T*Â lens offering 12x optical zoom.
It is equipped with Sony’s BIONZ imaging processor, and has Sony’s Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization. There is also a 2.7-inch LCD display.
The camcorder accepts Memory Stick PRO Duo media and any Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2) media cards.

While Panasonic’s SD9 is the smallest 3CCD HD camcorder, Sony HDR-TG1 (aka TG3E in the UK) Handycam claims to be the smallest Full HD camcorder. Sony HDR-TG1 features a 4 Megapixel image sensor, which can record Full HD 1920×1080 videos, 10x zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, 5.1 Dolby Digital, BIONZ image processor and a 2.7-inch LCD display. THe device supports Memory Stick Pro Duo Mark2 card.

Sony is going to ship on 14th March the HDR-SR12, a new Handycam digital camcorder. Sony HDR-SR12 comes with a 5.6 megapixel ClearVid CMOS image sensor and is equipped with Sony’s BIONZ image processor.
SR12 has a 120GB hard drive for storage and it can capture 1920×1080 Full HD videos. It offers also Face Detection for video, a 3.2-inch touch screen, 10 megapixel image capture and a Memory Stick PRO card slot.
The 120GB camcorder is priced at $1,399.99 USD.
